The Storm in the Barn- Bluebonnet Nominee

Matt Phelan has created a graphic novel that illustrates one families struggles during the Dust Bowl.  At the beginning of the story Jack is bullied and is not portrayed as a strong character, but throughout the story he becomes strong, especially when he must confront his fears in the barn.  A sinister spirit lives in the barn that is stopping the rain from coming which is causing the Dust Bowl and the destruction to the land.  Jack finally defeats the spirit and saves his family.
